Maizen's Mikey and JJ, redrawn for a prize, in Dumb's latest short
The duck-led Minecraft channel borrowed two famous characters for a drawing contest, and its comment section filled about twenty times faster than usual.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 161,400 views a day, 8.8 times a normal first day on this channel (18,432).

A drawing contest did it. "📱Whoever Draws the Best MIKEY AND JJ Gets the Prize!🏆🦫🟢 #shorts" went up on Monday and drew about 161,000 views in its first day, close to nine times what a new short on Dumb usually manages.
The guests of honor are not Dumb's own. Mikey and JJ are the pair at the center of Maizen's Minecraft animations, one of the best-known series in the game's corner of the internet. Dumb's regular cast looks different: Verity and her many variants, Lovity on the run from Obesity, Knoxy, and a beaver named Buddy. Maybe putting someone else's heroes up for a sketch-off brought in viewers who know them by heart?
The comments came in about twenty times faster than on a usual first day here, and they read like a judges' table. JJ gets his own shout-outs, one viewer votes for a capybara drawing, Knoxy's name keeps popping up, and at least one fan writes straight to Maizen, as if the pair had dropped by in person.
It stands out against a softer stretch for the whole channel, which is drawing fewer daily views than usual. The secret-base short for Lovity, as we reported here, has since gone past 380,000. The two shorts that followed on Tuesday, a doorbell built to annoy friends and Knoxy trapped by the Verity girls, are still in the tens of thousands.
