Avocado toast takes some assembly, even with an arena appointment ahead. Alex Volkanovski chops boiled eggs over his breakfast, adds mayonnaise and works through the opening meal of a fight day when he is also feeling sick.
"Everything I Ate on Fight Day (while sick) To Finish My Opponent" was Cooking With Volk's only new upload this week, reaching roughly 437,000 views. It follows the earlier post-weigh-in refuelling video, moving from restoring weight to getting through the day itself.
There is pad work between meals, chicken with sweet potato and rice afterwards, then a Nutella-and-banana rice cake before he leaves for the arena. Volkanovski credits his nutrition team and the discipline of camp: "Ten weeks of just following the diet to the gram." After the win, the camera finds him assessing a backstage wrap, right down to whether it needs more sauce.
Viewers have picked up on the breakfast preparation, with avocado, sourdough and eggs becoming a talking point alongside the time he spends putting meals together.
The channel added around 7,000 subscribers across the week, although daily viewing is now well below its usual pace. Among nearby food channels, Ryantagcoffee had a substantially larger viewing week, while Peebs was quieter.
The strongest daily momentum on Cooking With Volk belongs to an older, more communal meal: "Cooking Up For Friends and Family!" Israel Adesanya joins Volkanovski on the farm for ćevapi, pita, ajvar, feta and chicken wings. That feast and the post-weight-cut refuelling vlog are both drawing more daily views than the new fight-day instalment.
