Dr Pepper previews new 2027 beverage flavors
Among local news channels of a similar size, CBS Texas is one of the smaller ones by subscribers, yet it gained the third-most views of the group over the past seven days, close to five million. That still came at a slower clip than usual: on a typical day the channel draws roughly twice the views it is drawing now. The bigger weeks belonged to East Idaho News, CBS Chicago and NBC 6 South Florida, while FOX 2 Detroit and FOX 5 Washington DC were quieter.
Fifteen videos went up, most of them cut from the CBS 11 mid-day and evening newscasts. The lightest came from home. Dr Pepper, a soda born in Waco, gave customers a first look at its 2027 drinks, and the one the description singles out is a Dr Pepper Ice Cream Float.
The heavier stories took the most attention. Two reports followed the Army's plan to execute Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009. The later report gave December 3 as the date, citing an email sent to victims' families. Another covered hundreds of Cornell students protesting the university's handling of a 2024 rape case at a fraternity house. Closer to Dallas, police described Operation 10-90, aimed at violent offenders in the city's south-central area, and a McKinney church reported that hundreds of the 1,200 Israeli flags it had placed to remember the October 7 attack were pulled up and stomped on.
About 2,000 new subscribers joined across the week, a steady gain for a channel that leans mostly on news from North Texas.
