Warnings of radiation danger, a chemical threat and street fighting appeared in a Ukrainian alert app, but they were false messages sent through a compromised service, journalist Alexey Dushka reports.
Ukraine's Channel 24 (24 Канал) opens its November 2 news roundup with the incident, showing the alarming notifications alongside a Ukrainian Air Force Telegram message reporting the hack. The nuclear alert invoked in the upload's headline is therefore an account of false notifications, not a report of a nuclear attack.
Dushka then turns to diplomacy. Archive interview footage shows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressing readiness for a meeting in Turkey while maintaining that Ukraine will not relinquish its territory. The discussion presents Turkey as a possible venue for talks involving Zelenskyy, Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump. It does not announce an agreed meeting.
The American election enters through footage of Trump saying he would use his veto if Democrats regained a congressional majority. Dushka also examines Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's comments about restrictions on Russian diesel supplies to the United States, treating the issue as part of the wider diplomatic bargaining around the war.
A Black Sea segment brings in U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's remarks about Russia's nuclear arsenal and discusses the positions of Turkey and India. These are presented as elements of Dushka's geopolitical analysis, rather than an announcement of a new security agreement.
The final sections concern pressure on Russia's fuel industry and freight routes. Dushka reports Ukrainian strikes on refineries in Kstovo, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, and Novokuybyshevsk, linking the attacks to gasoline shortages and queues. He closes by examining Kazakhstan's tighter weight checks at its Russian border, which he says are slowing cargo transit.
Russia's foreign minister since 2004, he is the country's longest-serving holder of that office since the Tsarist era.
