Queda de avião na Flórida deixa enorme cratera no asfalto

Flames rise from a deep opening in the road as a witness films from a car. Slabs of asphalt jut upward, cables lie exposed, and vehicles move slowly past burning debris.

The footage, published by Brazil's CNN Brasil and credited to Reuters, records the aftermath of Sunday's Learjet crash in Palm Beach County, southeastern Florida. The channel reports, citing U.S. transportation authorities, that all nine people aboard died.

In the brief clip, pedestrians and motorists approach the damaged area. The camera moves closer to the burning trench before a wider view from a parking lot shows smoke and fire still visible along the street. It documents the damage after impact, not the aircraft's descent.

The upload is titled "Queda de avião na Flórida deixa enorme cratera no asfalto", meaning "Plane crash in Florida leaves huge crater in asphalt."

According to the channel's account of county commissioner Joel Flores's remarks, the crash occurred near the entrance to a mobile home community. About 600 people were evacuated and taken to two county shelters. The National Transportation Safety Board has opened an investigation into the crash, the report says.
