Canada gets the blame in 22 Minutes' Oval Office parody

Six new uploads also put Carney in a carpool and turn rent control into a Love Is Blind attraction.

22 Minutes gives its fictional Donald Trump a convenient election rule: victory is his achievement, while defeat is Canada's fault. Seated behind the Oval Office desk, the impersonator objects to foreign interference while insisting that his own interference is quite another matter.

"Don't interfere with President Trump's interference! | This Hour Has 22 Minutes" was the week's most-watched new upload, reaching roughly 762,000 views. Its central joke is the double standard, with Canada cast as both a dangerous influence and a useful scapegoat. Viewers repeatedly discuss the impersonation itself, particularly its delivery and resemblance.

The show's six-upload week had plenty of Canadian business, too. Parody versions of Chrétien and Trudeau offered Prime Minister Carney advice, while another sketch put Carney and Pierre Poilievre in a carpool. The description's backseat-driving joke hardly needs a second destination.

Elsewhere, a Nicki Minaj rally parody returned the rapper to the show's political make-believe, following October's fictional press-secretary turn. A Love Is Blind parody found a different source of romantic appeal: a rent-controlled home.

The Trump address remains the channel's busiest video right now, followed by the Minaj sketch and the Captain Highliner-themed upload about a company no longer being quite so Canadian. Across the channel, daily viewing is a little below its usual level, but subscribers grew by about 9,000 over the week.

Among nearby talk and late-night channels, Would I Lie To You? had a much larger viewing week, while Lorraine's subscriber count held steady. For 22 Minutes, the new audience growth came alongside a slate that could move from election blame to housing anxiety without leaving the sketch format.
