Gordon Ramsay walks into a Tim Hortons, and 22 Minutes serves it up
The CBC satire's newest sketch passed 128,000 views in its first ten hours, in a week that also had Pete Hegseth scouting Canada and Mark Carney trying out jokes.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Gordon Ramsay visits Tim Hortons! | This Hour Has 22 Minutes
Among the talk and late-night channels nearest its size, This Hour Has 22 Minutes gathered the third most views this week, about 1.7 million, behind Would I Lie To You? and LADbible Entertainment, both of which are running well past their usual pace. The CBC show itself ran a little under its own.
The freshest thing on the shelf is the most Canadian premise imaginable: Gordon Ramsay visits Tim Hortons. The description lets him get one word in, "Blimey," and one complaint, that the menu keeps changing. Ten hours after it went up, it was moving faster than anything else the channel has posted lately.
The week's biggest total still belongs to the oldest of the five uploads, a sketch about Pete Hegseth doing "recon" on Canada, billed with the line that True North means the high ground. Its comment section is a running list of favorite lines, from the capital being Toronto to a defiant "end of sentence," and several viewers single out a Seth Rogen laugh. One surprised commenter notices that the same actor plays Trudeau, Poilievre and Hegseth.
The rest of the week leaned on the show's usual targets: Mark Carney deciding he wants to be funny, a primetime parody, and a Coach's Corner run by Donna Cherry and Rhonda MacLean, the show's swap on the Don Cherry and Ron MacLean hockey institution. That last one, two days old, is finding viewers at a steady clip.
