ADÉLA: Nicole Kidman/Ain't In LA Medley | The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Most musical performances on the Tonight Show channel settle in at a modest pace. This one did not: ADÉLA's medley passed nearly two million views in its first day, and the comments arrived at roughly thirty-five times the usual rate.
Jimmy Fallon introduces it as her TV debut, holding up her album PRIMA. The opening is staged like a stage show rather than a talk-show slot: a spoken intro under red light, ADÉLA standing inside a ring of dancers, then the lights come up as they lift her and "Nicole Kidman" begins. At one point she is held aloft in a split, still singing.
Then the dancers leave. ADÉLA sits down on the lit steps and talks to the room. "Can't believe I'm on Jimmy Fallon!" she says, then: "This next song changed my life." What follows is a short, seated "Ain't In LA," with nobody around her.
The choreography is what most viewers bring up: the lifts, the backup dancers, the ballet that still shows in her movement. Plenty of others single out that pause to speak to the audience. A good number of commenters trace her path back to The Debut: Dream Academy, the 2023 HYBE and Geffen competition that produced KATSEYE, where the Slovak singer did not make the final group. Some say they saw her as an opening act only months ago.
Her sit-down interview from the same night also drew a big audience. In it she talks about growing up in Slovakia, hearing that the real Nicole Kidman had mentioned her song, and gets Fallon up for a Swaggerina dance lesson.
