Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Brisbane woman saves baby koala from python | Sunrise

Sunrise posted 22 videos, but its biggest new-upload audience came for a brief bushland rescue rather than a studio interview. At Whites Hill Reserve in Brisbane's Camp Hill, Nell freed a koala joey from a python while out walking her dog.

The report shows her holding the joey, then reaching up to place it on a tree trunk near its mother. She also carries the python away for relocation. The closing wildlife image is the reunion in the branches, with both animals safely separated. The upload has reached about 10,000 views and is also the channel's busiest video by daily views.

The comments open up a genuine wildlife question: when should people intervene? Some viewers call for recognition for Nell; others focus on the python's interrupted meal. That debate gives the short report something beyond the rescue itself.

The kitchen supplied another busy corner of the week. In "Manu and Clarissa's Tom Yum fried rice | Sunrise", the Feildels combine pork and prawns with lemongrass, lime leaves and Tom Yum paste. Their cookbook Butter And Spice divides its recipes into His, Hers and Ours, a neat framework for a shared cooking segment. It has the second-strongest daily momentum, followed by the report on bomb threats disrupting European airports and newsrooms.

Across the channel, weekly views totalled roughly 1.2 million, while subscribers remained unchanged. Today's viewing is close to Sunrise's usual daily level. Among nearby talk-show channels, 22 Minutes had a substantial week of subscriber growth; Sunrise's own week found its most-watched new story away from the desk, in a Brisbane tree.
