Rep. Omar says she hasn’t talked to federal agents since raid at her home
"Nothing. They haven't said anything," Ilhan Omar tells reporters asking what federal agents have told her after a raid on her Washington, D.C., home.
The Minnesota congresswoman was casting her ballot in Minneapolis on Friday. In WCCO - CBS Minnesota's report, Caroline Cummings says Homeland Security Investigations executed a sealed search warrant at the Washington residence.
The report also includes an interview in which Omar describes agents taking notebooks and old phones. She says she can no longer stay at the residence because of death threats, and says she still does not understand what is happening.
WCCO's short report drew about 74,000 views in its first day, more than forty times the channel's usual start for uploads of the same length.
Alongside the search, the report covers political attacks questioning Omar's name and her public response that her name has always been Ilhan Omar. It closes with a distinction from her legal team: her Minnesota home has not been searched.
