Midnight arrives on Warner Bros. Rewind's V for Vendetta rooftop

Four uploads move from Christopher Lee's Dracula to The Polar Express, with Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman marking November 5.

Evey thinks it is November 4. "Not any more," V replies, as midnight bells ring across London. That rooftop exchange between Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving gave Warner Bros. Rewind its most-watched new upload this week, a brief excerpt from V for Vendetta posted on the date the film makes impossible to forget.

The movie-clips channel also shared a longer sequence from James McTeigue's film, taking in V's rescue of Evey and the destruction of the Old Bailey. Viewers of the Short brought their own filmgoing memories: one recalled seeing it while serving in the army in 2006, while another was surprised to discover its DC connection. The film adapts Alan Moore and David Lloyd's graphic novel.

Elsewhere, the week's selections made a brisk seasonal turn. Christopher Lee's Dracula prowled 1970s London in Dracula A.D. 1972, before Tom Hanks's conductor faced a derailed train in The Polar Express. The latter was the most watched of the week's new regular videos.

Across the catalog, an October Short from The Town, featuring Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner, carries the strongest daily momentum. Neo's lesson with Morpheus in The Matrix is also drawing viewers beyond its release week.

Warner Bros. Rewind gained roughly 1,000 subscribers, bringing it within touching distance of half a million. Daily viewing is modestly above its usual pace. Among the nearby studio and trailer channels, it had the third-largest weekly view gain, with Sony Pictures Releasing UK and GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO also having substantial weeks.
