Bob Chapek on Disney's 'woke' question, clipped for Valuetainment Short Clips

The former Disney CEO's interview passed 170,000 views in five days, the biggest of fifteen clips that also took in Sammy Gravano, Tom Cruise and baseball attendance.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Valuetainment Short Clips does what its name says: it cuts Patrick Bet-David's longer conversations and panel shows into bite-size pieces. It posted fifteen of them this week, and one did far more than the rest.

That was "Did Disney Go Too Woke?", a clip of former Disney CEO Bob Chapek, who ran the company between two stints by Bob Iger. In the clip, Chapek says he inherited the studio's LGBTQ content push, since Iger kept control of the creative side and those films had been greenlit years earlier. He also explains why he first stayed neutral on Florida's Parental Rights in Education bill, which critics call "Don't Say Gay," and why that changed. The comment section is busy with Disney's audience and with how carefully Chapek answered.

The rest of the week was a mixed bag. Sammy "The Bull" Gravano tells Bet-David he would not sit down with John Gotti Jr. for less than a million dollars. Camryn Manheim's speech at the Human Rights Campaign dinner, in which she said she had hoped for a gay son, got its own clip. Another looks at the reported box office collapse of Tom Cruise's Digger, and one more at record baseball crowds and a possible strike. Two oil clips posted at the very end of the week, one on how much America burns in a day and one on diesel prices, are already moving faster than everything except Chapek.

All told the channel added a little over a million views across the week, running just under its usual daily pace, and its subscriber count held at 772,000. Most of the political talk channels near its size are well below their usual pace right now. TYT Investigates is the exception, running well above it, while Dan Wootton Outspoken had the biggest week in the group by a wide margin.
