Trent Ellis hires a cameraman who forgets the camera
Stephen's lunch question and filming-format dilemma turn a hunting-blind sketch into the busiest of three new uploads.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
“I think he smelled us” 🤣
Trent Ellis puts a hunter at full draw and gives his cameraman almost every priority except filming the deer. Stephen wonders about lunch. Then he slowly produces a phone and asks whether the shot should be vertical or horizontal. Holding a bowstring back suddenly looks like the easier part of the job.
It's a staged comedy sketch, with an onscreen warning about hiring off Facebook Marketplace. "I think he smelled us" 🤣 has reached roughly 230,000 views, comfortably the most watched of Ellis's three new uploads. The comments pick out the turn at the end and the earplug detail; others ask about the camouflage. Even the wardrobe gets its own questions when the camera operator is this unprepared.
The new hunting mishap isn't the only clip drawing attention. An October upload has passed four million views and remains the channel's busiest individual video right now, bringing in more daily views than Stephen's assignment.
Across the channel, Ellis added 4,000 subscribers over the week. Daily viewing is currently well below its usual level, though the week's total views were the highest among the nearby outdoors channels with weekly totals available. WILD HOMESTEAD matched his subscriber gain, while Dan Becker and Briggsy Sport Fishing had unchanged subscriber counts.
For Ellis, the fresh material returns to a particularly useful comedy setup: hunting requires patience, and Stephen has found an entirely different way to test it.
