Things we can learn from the video

- 0:00Dan replaces the earlier PLA test materials with PETG-HS and PEEK after criticism of the first video.
- 1:40The collapsible stool supports each tester, earning a four-star rating.
- 3:26Tent-stake tests compare PETG-HS with PEEK under bending and repeated impacts.
- 12:07The shower adapter works with a bottle and hose, but leakage lowers its rating.
- 15:28A loaded backpack pulls the printed hook out of position; the following hammock test breaks a carabiner.
Can a change of plastic make homemade camping gear worth packing? Dan Becker's return to 3D-printed gadgets gives that question a fairly physical examination: sitting, digging, bending and, in Gordon Krumm's case, getting sprayed by a camp shower.
Dan posted nothing new this week, but "I Tested 3D Printed Camping Gadgets AGAIN" is his busiest individual upload right now. The October video has reached roughly 144,000 views. After criticism of their earlier PLA tests, Dan and Gordon bring in Jim from The Edge of Tech with gear printed in PETG-HS and PEEK.
Some of it earns its place. A collapsible stool supports all three testers individually, and the PEEK tent stake takes considerable punishment before breaking. Other designs have more fundamental problems: a backpack hook flexes and slips off, while a printed carabiner snaps during the hammock test. Stronger material doesn't automatically make every shape a good idea. The video also contains a sponsored battery-bank segment.
Across the channel, the archive collected about a quarter of a million views over the week, while the subscriber count held steady. Daily viewing is below Dan's usual level. Nearby outdoor channels are also running below their typical daily viewing, including Dude Perfect Outdoors and More Than Farmers; the latter collected a similar weekly total to Dan.
There's a different sort of catch-up available in "A Lot Has Changed Behind the Scenes", another active October upload. Its description announces a search for a short-form video editor, a little production-house business alongside the gear that gets bent, soaked and broken.
