Curls from a pair of straighteners: Christina Peart's 'easy hack' passes half a million
The tutorial went up alongside a star headband try-on, and only one of the two ran away.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 451,949 views a day, 20 times a normal day (22,362).
Christina Peart posted two hair hacks on Friday. Three days later, one has passed half a million views and the other has yet to reach 32,000.
The one that ran is "an easy hack to learn how to curl with straighteners," and its premise is in the title: getting curls out of a tool built to take them away. Its companion that day was a go at the viral star headband hack, tagged with a star hair clip. Same day, same kind of short, very different trips.
The curling short pulled the whole channel with it. On its latest day the channel drew about twenty times its usual views, on a feed otherwise filled with claw-clip updos, an autumn hair idea and a "toasty" autumn makeup look.
It is not the first hack here to travel. In mid-September a plait short titled "finally trying this hack and pleased to say it actually works!" reached a similar size, and it now sits not far behind the new one. Two shorts a few weeks apart, both promising something easy, and both closing in on half a million.
