An emergency shovel is part of Kobie Jordan's introduction to bothy life. The American creator, who lives in London, joins Scottish photographer and guide Bryan Millar Walker for a Highland overnight stay in The Travel Edit's biggest new upload of the week.

The second Scran & Scramble episode takes them through Glen Coe and into stories of the Cailleach, with folklore guide Jenny Johnstone connecting the landscape to Gaelic mythology. Then comes the less postcard-friendly part: walking through bogs and streams in the dark to reach a remote, unmanned shelter.

Inside, there are sausages, bacon and a packaged ration meal. By the fireplace, Bryan reflects on leaving office life and returning to Scotland. It's a useful change of register from the scenery: the guide gets to explain what being here means to him. Kobie's eventual verdict is rather more compact: "Cold as hell, but special."

The episode has reached about 23,000 views. Viewers discuss seeing Scotland through a first-time visitor's eyes, recall their own Highland walks and ask for more of the series. Three shorter uploads, touching on loch legends, haunted accommodation and camping, rounded out the posting week.

The first Scran & Scramble episode, travelling from Edinburgh to Loch Lomond, remains the channel's busiest video right now, drawing roughly twice the daily views of its follow-up. Rick Stein's Spanish food journey supplies another pocket of activity, but Scotland has become the main draw.

Across the channel, weekly views topped a quarter of a million while subscribers held steady. Its audience is smaller this week than those of the nearby television channels, including BBC Comedy Greats and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, although its own daily viewing is now well above its usual level. For The Travel Edit, the new attraction is a travelling partnership with room for both ancient legends and very practical camping supplies.
