Nobody has picked up. Sofi Manassyan has already launched into "Hey, what's up?" when another ring cuts her off.

Seated outdoors with her phone to her ear, she looks away and waits quietly. The staged sketch calls it "When your phone pranks you:" and needs only a few seconds to deliver the awkwardness.

The Short reached about 6.8 million views in its first 21 hours, far beyond the channel's usual first-day audience of roughly 710,000 for Shorts. Its comment section has also passed three times the usual full-day total before the day is finished.

Viewers are adding their own complications to the joke. Several describe the extra embarrassment of someone watching, leaving them tempted to continue a conversation that never started. Others mention greeting voicemail by mistake or hearing the same misleading pause on WhatsApp. One viewer's precaution is simple: wait for the other person to say hello first.
