Aphrodite has advice for surviving a war with the Titans: love. Sitting with her in a limousine, Percy Jackson offers a clarification: "Yeah, I mean, Annabeth and I are just friends." The rescue mission in the new season three trailer puts rather more weight behind that friendship.

Posted on Disney Plus's official channel, the trailer reached about 1.5 million views in eleven hours, far beyond the channel's usual opening for uploads of this length. Its unusually busy comment section is looking beyond this season already, with repeated requests for adaptations of the remaining books.

The immediate problem is Annabeth. After she falls from a cliff during a monster attack, Percy receives a quest from Zoe Nightshade to save her. The description explains that she has been captured by Kronos's forces, leaving Percy and Grover to travel with unlikely companions while a dangerous prophecy hangs over them.

The trailer gives that journey some very specific obstacles: a black winged Pegasus, the towering automaton Talos in a junkyard, and the weight of the sky itself. "I'm going to save Annabeth. Give me the weight of the sky," Percy says.

Viewers are also picking out Nico di Angelo's scenes, including a moment near the trailer's end that book readers are discussing without needing much explanation. Others are asking for the story to continue through seasons four and five, rather than treating this quest as a stopping point.

Season three begins November 20 with a two-episode premiere. Disney Plus has also posted a recap led by Grover actor Aryan Simhadri, retracing the stolen master bolt, the Golden Fleece and Thalia's return before this rescue begins.
