Thee Burger Dude puts a homemade Whopper on the budget
His vegan fast-food remake separates the full grocery bill from the cost of what actually goes into each burger.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Homemade Whoppers for Cheaper
Does a homemade Whopper really work out cheaper? Thee Burger Dude takes that question to the grocery store, then gives it two answers: the cost of buying everything and the cost of the ingredients actually used.
In "Homemade Whoppers for Cheaper," he starts with an app order for an Impossible Whopper with cheese, then shops for plant-based ground beef, vegan cheese, mayonnaise and the rest. His ingredient-by-ingredient calculation comes to $4.64 per burger, less than half the restaurant price shown. Buying the groceries upfront costs more per serving, though it leaves ingredients behind. That distinction is the useful part, and several viewers specifically thank him for including both calculations.
Others suggest cheaper patties, including homemade falafel, or discuss whether labor and travel belong in the comparison. He anticipates the labor question himself, before admitting a simpler motivation: he wanted to eat six Whoppers.
The Short has reached roughly 151,000 views, making it the most watched of his two new uploads. "Holiday Food for Everyone!" rounds out the week's menu. Elsewhere in the catalog, "Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!" is drawing the most daily views, with "Marry Me Butter Beans" also keeping busy.
The channel gained subscribers modestly over the week, while daily viewing is running above its usual level. Among nearby food channels, Giulia Bruno had a particularly large viewing week and TFTI BBQ was busy too. For Thee Burger Dude, the new burger fits the channel's particular invitation: familiar, indulgent comfort food made with plants, this time with the receipt included.

Thank you for breaking down the cost by total ingredients and then by how much of each ingredient. It's really helpful when meal planning!

Also, far cheaper if you don’t buy impossible meat and are able to substitute that with another kind of patty. I think some crafty vegans can really get that cost down even further
@frostyfrenchtoastSee it on YouTubeEven adding in the travel and labor costs, this is STILL way cheaper than the Impossible Whopper.
Personally, I like making falafel patties. it doesn't taste like meat, but that chickpea umami hits different.@arifhossain9751See it on YouTubeThat's an uncannily photogenic Whopper 😂
@eatyourveggies_See it on YouTubeHonestly, even with the inflated price, I really like the impossible whopper. I order mine without ketchup or mayo and add barbecue sauce instead; really good (in my opinion).
@RBIXGUYSee it on YouTubeThe only thing I miss about getting one at a BK is the charcoal flavour tbh
@glizzylacroixSee it on YouTubeI like the mass calculation with the break down calculation as well!! Makes it more fair of a discussion!
