Heavyweights over 300 pounds keep The Scrapyard's Gig Harbor yard busy

Four separate uploads carry nearly the same title, and the first of them has passed 300,000 views in four days.

Fighting, but OVER 300 Pounds

At The Scrapyard, the big men had the week. Steve Hagara, the former semi-pro MMA fighter known as "Firechicken," runs this legal backyard fight organization in Gig Harbor, Washington, where nobody is paid and nobody buys a ticket. Among the thirteen videos it posted in seven days, the heavyweights kept coming back, under titles that barely change: "Fighting, but OVER 300 Pounds," "Fighting OVER 300 Pounds," and twice simply "Fighting over 300 pounds."

The one with the comma is the one people found. Posted on Wednesday, it has passed 300,000 views and is still the channel's busiest video by a wide margin. Saturday's version is close behind on pace, only hours old. The description sets out the house rules: boxing, kickboxing, MMA and jiu-jitsu are allowed, a medical team stands by, and everything runs under Washington's mutual combat law.

For a change of tone there was "The Fight of the Century : Barndog vs The CEO," a title that promises more than any undercard could, with no word on who The CEO is when he isn't fighting. And the Sunday upload headed "Sunday dose of VIOLENCE," marked as previously recorded, sits near seven million views and has gone almost still.

Taken together, the channel is drawing about twice its usual daily views, which puts it among the busiest days in its corner of combat sports. GLORY Kickboxing and FREESTYLEBENDER are running at their normal pace, while Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship and Sky Sports Boxing are having a quieter stretch. In Gig Harbor, it is the heavyweights who are doing the drawing.
