Fifteen uploads, one formula. That Recipe titles almost everything as a genius idea that everyone is suddenly copying, and this week the genius landed on cabbage, chocolate, Twix bars, ground beef and, most memorably, chicken.
"After this genius idea, everyone is making chicken like this" went up on Monday and is moving several times faster than anything else on the channel. Its viewers keep fixing on one moment: raw chicken breasts tossed into a food processor. One commenter could only think of the Bass-O-Matic, the old Saturday Night Live blender sketch, which tells you how the scene lands.
The ingredient lists elsewhere are their own small adventures. The liver recipe soaks chicken liver in beer and finishes it with hard-boiled eggs and mozzarella. The dessert that "everyone asks me for" piles blueberries, cream cheese, condensed milk, bananas, strawberries and puff pastry together, with vanilla ice cream on top. The Twix trick melts the candy bars down with milk and cocoa, then adds hazelnut wafer rolls.
The channel as a whole ran at a little more than half its usual daily views, and it was not alone: most of the cooking channels near its size, from RachhLovesLife to Hoopla Recipes, were quieter than normal too. Outdoor Chef Life and Gareth Leonard held closest to their usual pace.
The about text points to a bigger operation behind the kitchen: every recipe also appears in Portuguese, Spanish and French, on sister channels called Aquela Receita, Aquella Receta and Cette Recette.
