On a usual day Hoopla Recipes gathers something above 30,000 views across its library of cakes. Right now it is running at about half that, and the week's new uploads explain part of the gap: none of the longer videos got far past a thousand views.

The description promises a cat in a witch's hat turning strawberries into little ghosts, which is about as seasonal as a cake channel gets.
The rest of the week leaned on the channel's favorite trick, cakes that pretend to be something else. One video asked viewers to pick between a crayon cake and a melting rainbow candle cake. Another built a cake to look like a Starbucks frappuccino and paired it with whipped Dalgona coffee. A designer collection set a caramel cake beside a Dior handbag made of sponge and frosting. There was a borrowed guest too: a livestream ran the whole of Donal's Asian Baking Adventure, the Irish TV cook Donal Skehan's series of Japanese milk bread, yuzu cheesecake and jasmine tea brownies.
Among older uploads, a set of rainbow gelatin cakesicles from mid-September is still drawing steady views. Nearby food channels are mostly quieter than usual as well, with Outdoor Chef Life holding closest to its normal pace.
