Apple pie cookies, or little pies? RachhLovesLife's fall recipe test

Rachel's Saturday upload ran through waffle-battered apple slices, cheesy sweet potato puffs, apple cinnamon tea and a cookie her viewers insist is a pie.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Rachel kept her Saturday promise with one upload, "I Tried the Most POPULAR Fall Recipes 🤯 Is ANYTHING Worth Making?", and three days later it had passed 80,000 views. The lineup is all autumn: waffle-battered apple slices, cheesy sweet potato puffs, apple cinnamon tea and the viral apple pie cookies.

Those cookies started the comment section's favorite argument. Apple pie filling, pie dough cut into rounds, a lattice on top: plenty of viewers say that makes them small hand pies, and a few come with fixes, like building a whole sheet of lattice, freezing it and cutting circles from it. The other hero of the comments is Rachel's editor, thanked for sparing everyone the scraping noises and nominated, half seriously, for a raise. Some viewers also noticed that her kids know their parents' 90s songs.

Apples are something of a running theme. The gadget video from ten days earlier, with the Ninja Slushi Twist, a mini pie maker and an apple corer, is the channel's next busiest, now close to 100,000 views.

The whole channel moved at about half its usual daily pace, and subscribers held near 713,000. Among cooking channels of a similar size, Outdoor Chef Life and Gareth Leonard had the bigger weeks, while That Recipe and Hoopla Recipes were also running well below their usual pace.
