An AI bubble warning, 1929-style, keeps Ray Dalio's channel talking

Three weeks after it went up, his comparison of today's technology boom with railroads and the late 1920s has passed 600,000 views, while three shorter lessons arrived around it.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Twenty-two days old, "RAY DALIO ON THE AI BUBBLE" is still the busiest thing on the channel, drawing several times the daily views of anything newer. The argument is a familiar one for the Bridgewater Associates founder: almost every technology boom, from the railroads to the electricity-and-radio frenzy of the late 1920s, has produced a bubble and then a bust. The miracle, the description says, is not the same thing as the investment.

Three new uploads followed, each a compact lesson. "HOW DEBT CYCLES OPERATE" returns to the idea at the heart of his animated explainer How the Economic Machine Works: borrowing pulls spending forward, so every loan builds in a leaner stretch later. "RAY DALIO ON THE IMPORTANCE OF A GAME PLAN" asks investors to write down their decision rules and test them against history. And "Three Tools for Evaluating Talent" ranks values first, abilities second and skills last.

The last two are credited to My First Million, the business podcast hosted by Sam Parr and Shaan Puri, which suggests one conversation is being served up in pieces. The newest of them is already gathering views faster than the debt-cycle lesson posted the day before.

An older warning, "Past the Point of No Return," is also still moving two months on, with its image of debt payments building up like plaque in the arteries. Among the money and business channels nearest in size, the news networks are having the loud week: Fox Business, CNBC Television and Bloomberg Television are all running well above their usual pace.
