'Information: incorrect' carries CineSavvy's Doctor Who clip past eight million
A week after it went up, the Tenth Doctor's run-in with the Host robots is drawing about ten times its usual daily views, and a Grey's Anatomy clip from the same channel is close behind.
Why this story? The video is running at 4,205,456 views a day, 10 times its usual pace (401,553).
“I Don’t Exist ” — Doctor Who Iconic Scene ⏳
CineSavvy's Doctor Who scene has not slowed down. Two days after we noted it passing a million views, "“I Don’t Exist ” — Doctor Who Iconic Scene ⏳" has gone past eight million and is now drawing roughly ten times its own usual daily pace.
The clip comes from Voyage of the Damned, the 2007 Christmas special written by Russell T Davies. David Tennant's Doctor is aboard a starship called Titanic, in a tuxedo and sneakers, facing the Host: golden, angel-like robot attendants whose halos double as weapons. He tries to talk his way past them, and the scene builds toward one flat robotic reply.
That reply is what the comment section keeps returning to. Viewers replay the exchange where the Doctor asks if he is right and is told, without ceremony, that he is not. Others have started counting his questions, pointing out that "did you hear me?" is a question too, while one viewer argues he was technically right all along. Plenty of people also single out his delighted grin after "take me to your leader," a line he says he has always wanted to use.
CineSavvy is a clips channel that posts scenes from film and television. The Doctor has company at the top: "Visiting Hours Are Over! 🛑|Grey's Anatomy," posted four days later, has already reached about the same total. Between them, the channel is running at several times its normal daily views, far beyond any of the clip channels nearest it in size.
