A dream audition, landed for a stranger, carries Simon Squibb's thirteen uploads
Daniel Priestley also dropped by to argue that a nine-to-five is a fine place to start a business with AI.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
I landed him his DREAM audition… 🥹
Four days old and already past a quarter of a million views, "I landed him his DREAM audition… 🥹" is the video doing the heavy lifting on Simon Squibb's channel. The title tells the whole premise. Squibb, the British entrepreneur whose about text says he has started 19 businesses and invested in more than 80 startups, has built his channel on walking up to strangers and asking what their dream is, and this time the answer was an audition.
It was one of thirteen uploads, and most of them follow the same tender pattern, with that same teary emoji in nearly every title: a man fighting for his wife's dream, a woman who was "SO happy," and a newer short in which Squibb becomes someone's very first customer. That one went up only hours ago and is already moving at a clip that puts it second on the channel.
The longer conversation of the week belongs to Daniel Priestley, the author and founder of Dent Global. His chaptered sit-down, "If You Have a 9 to 5, Start a Business With AI ASAP," moves from whether AI will take your job to when to quit, how to build a waitlist and how to prove an idea before betting on it. It has passed 100,000 views in a week.
Among the money and business channels of similar size, Forbes and Humphrey Yang are the ones having a busy stretch, both well above their usual daily pace, while Nischa is right around her normal level. Squibb, fourth by subscribers in that group, spent his week mostly asking strangers what they want to be.
