- 0:00The upload begins with a 30-minute countdown, rather than the business lesson itself.
- 1:01Five tracks cover e-commerce, creator businesses, coaching and communities, services, and app building.
- 1:08The opening slides explain that entry is free and pitches are judged against published criteria, not by chance.
A business idea, not an existing audience, is the entry ticket Simon Squibb is offering. His competition livestream drew about 115,000 views in eight hours, already well beyond the usual full-day audience for his longer uploads.
The competition spans e-commerce, app building, services, creator businesses, and coaching and communities. According to its published description, most of the prize fund will be divided into smaller awards, with finalists pitching live before investors for the grand prize.
There is a useful distinction behind the big-money title: this is a judged pitch competition, not a draw or a public vote. Subscriber counts, course progress and community activity do not affect the score. Applicants must be adults in participating countries, and their business must be theirs or under their control. Applications open November 20 and close November 25.
The broadcast begins with a countdown and slides explaining the format before the advertised training. In the comments, viewers discuss the five-minute segments, while another jokes about having homework afterward.
Squibb has an audience for longer business lessons already: his most-watched regular upload is "30 Years of Business Knowledge in 2hrs 26mins". This project gives that teaching format a specific assignment: turn an idea into a pitch lasting no more than a minute.
