More Throwbacks in HAPPY WHEELS
"More Throwbacks in HAPPY WHEELS" does what its title says. OneyPlays is back in the Steam edition of the gleefully gory ragdoll game, and this is at least the third visit in little more than a week. As we reported here, the first two had already brought the crew back to it.
This one moved fastest. It passed 120,000 views within nine hours, about ten times what a new video on the channel usually gathers in its first day. It is also already close to "THE LAST OF US", the episode that opened the week, which has had three days to get there. The other new uploads, "Chewing on Adam", "Best Game EVER" and "Holy Mary", are sitting in the tens of thousands.
The comment section reads like a room full of regulars. Tom Fulp, the founder of Newgrounds, keeps turning up in the jokes, including a pun on Harlan Ellison's "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream". That fits a channel run by Chris O'Neill, whose animation grew up on Newgrounds. Tomar gets the mock-epic treatment as "Tomar of the Tomar Clan". A large share of viewers also treat a new round of Happy Wheels as a power move in itself, answering it with a Pink Floyd line, a Bible-style verse about Oney playing "with all his might" and a shouted channel anthem.
None of it should surprise anyone who has read the channel's about text. It calls this Oney's gaming alt, where he uploads whatever he wants, and it adds that nobody is allowed to complain about it.
