The Cast of ‘Artificial’ on Waymos
Andrew Garfield is playing a man from the tech world again. In "Artificial," Luca Guadagnino's new film about OpenAI, he is a tech executive, and at the film's New York Film Festival premiere New York Magazine put a local question to him, writer Simon Rich and Will Price: what exists in San Francisco that could never exist in New York? Waymos, apparently. That clip was the most watched of the week's uploads. Under it, viewers moved on to city sizes and the fog that rolls over San Francisco. A second clip had Garfield choosing whether he would rather live with Mark Zuckerberg or Sam Altman, a pointed question for the actor who played Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network.
The rest of the week took the magazine's usual wide tour of the city. Ben Ahlers talked about the advice Carrie Coon gave him while he was filming The Gilded Age by day and doing Death of a Salesman at night. Choreographer Justin Peck floated The Killers' Hot Fuss as a Broadway musical. A 19-year-old reseller showed off the priciest Chrome Hearts pieces in his shop, and The Cut went window shopping at Pomellato.
The Anne Hathaway video carried most of the channel's traffic, though. Her NYQ episode, the series that measures how New York a famous New Yorker really is, came out nearly two weeks ago and is still the video bringing people in. The channel finished the week with about 750,000 views, a little under its usual pace. Most of the fashion and shopping channels close to it in size slowed down more than that, and The Reynolds Recommend had the biggest week in the group by a wide margin. Subscribers stayed at 468,000.
