One cable and a dark London: viewers question the outage on Neil McCoy-Ward

His video on the city's power cut passed 190,000 views in under two days, and two quick shorts on the UK's energy supply followed it.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Twelve uploads went up in seven days, and the week followed a clear path from Paris to London. It opened with "What's Going On?! (PARIS Under Siege & Everything Falling Apart FAST!!)" and a run of shorts on France, Poland and Russia. It ended at home, with "⚠️ Just Happened! (London MASS Power Outage!)".

That London video is where the attention is now. It drew most of its views on its first day and is still pulling in far more each day than anything else on the channel. Neil, who presents his channel as help for people protecting their savings and pensions, followed it with two shorts: one on what he calls the hidden danger behind the outage, and one asking what the UK is doing to its energy supply. Both opened quickly.

The comment section has its own argument going. Several viewers who say they are electricians doubt that a single cable could cause a blackout that large. Others write from north and south-east London to say their lights never went out. Some just say the country is not ready for a power cut.

Across the whole channel, daily views are running at nearly three times their usual level. Among money and business channels of a similar size, Bloomberg Podcasts had the biggest week by far. Rachel Cruze was also running above her usual pace, and Sabri Suby was quieter than normal.
