MIRROR NOW reports that Pakistani security forces used live fire and allegedly armed drones to clear protest camps in Rawalakot, in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, on November 5. The broadcaster says at least seven civilians were killed and others injured.
The camps were organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, or JAAC. Its demands concern everyday costs and public services: cheaper electricity, subsidized wheat, better healthcare, education and employment, alongside broader political representation. The organization has led major protests in the region since 2023.
The report cites Kashmiri activists and a journalist describing alleged property destruction and drawing comparisons with Israeli military actions in Gaza. Those comparisons are the speakers' characterization of the crackdown, not an established equivalence between the conflicts. MIRROR NOW says demonstrations have continued despite a ban on JAAC, arrests and communication restrictions.
The upload drew more than 38,000 views before its first full day, far above the channel's usual start for a regular video. Its title names "Rawalapindi," but the narration and description place the events in Rawalakot.
For viewers deciding whether to watch, the narrated account and explanation of the protesters' demands come first. From 4:26, the upload repeats the footage compilation without new narration.
