October 13 on the calendar: Matt Talks Tech waits for a new Apple TV

Four of the week's seven uploads circled the same rumored date, with an OLED iPad Mini, a HomePod mini 2 and a screen-topped home hub in the lineup.

One date, four videos. Matt spent most of his week on October 13, the day reports say Apple will show off another round of hardware, and his descriptions are careful to add that Apple has not announced anything yet.

The opener, posted on Monday, counted up to eight possible products, from an OLED iPad Mini with the A20 Pro chip to M6 MacBook Pros, a new iMac and a smart home hub viewers keep calling the HomePad. It passed 450,000 views and became the week's most watched upload by a distance. Its comments are a waiting room for Apple TV owners, several saying they have held off buying one for years. Others noticed something new about Matt himself: a fresh studio, and a lot of them say they prefer it to the old green-screen look. One commenter also spotted that the hub's spherical base recalls the old iMac G4.

The narrower follow-ups came fast. A second event video zoomed in on the home trio, an iPad Mini piece asked whether OLED and an iPhone chip make it the Pro in all but name, and then on Sunday came the one moving quickest of all: the Apple TV with an A19-series chip, a box Matt's description says has gone unchanged since 2022. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman is the source he cites for the date.

Between the rumors sat a ten-day iPhone 18 Pro Max review and a mini PC running Cyberpunk 2077. The channel ran a little warmer than usual, and among the gadget channels of its size it placed third in views gained, while jakkuh and Retro Game Corps had the big weeks.
