A pumpkin pie sliced by wealth heads Lamont Tyson's busy Monday

The CBS News demonstration from 2020 went up beside clips on Chuck Lorre, Jack Smith's 'No Kings' shirt and Jane Fonda's midterm pitch.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Among the political commentary channels close to Lamont Tyson in size, none came near his week: about 15 million views in seven days, roughly five times what the next busiest channel in the group gathered. The daily pace has cooled to about half its usual level, but a week like that still leaves plenty of room.

Fifteen uploads went out, and the channel's formula is easy to spot. Lamont picks up a clip from someone else's broadcast or feed, adds a pointed title and a question for the comments, and moves on. The freshest batch, all posted on Monday, shows the range. Most watched is "Americans STUNNED by Who Owns the Wealth," an old CBS News segment in which people were handed a pumpkin pie standing for America's household wealth and asked to slice it the way they thought it was shared. The description says their guesses were far off, and notes that the segment dates from 2020. Viewers keep picking up the pie: some joke about taking a slice back, many argue about trickle-down economics and Reagan-era tax policy, and one popular question is simply how people still don't know this.

Close behind came a restaurant owner turning away two diners over a missing tip, and the White House answering Chuck Lorre, creator of The Big Bang Theory, after a speech at a Project Angel Food charity event. Further down the list: Jack Smith at a Maryland concert, where the description says Dave Grohl dedicated "My Hero" to him, Jane Fonda on the midterm stakes, and Angela Paxton backing a Republican ticket without saying her husband Ken's name.

The channel added about 9,000 subscribers over the week.
