Jesser wants to be LeBron James's teammate. The immediate assignment is rather less glamorous: convince Delaware Blue Coats coaches he can do the work their team needs.

"I Tried Out To Be LeBron's Teammate" has drawn about a million views in its first 22 hours. It follows Jesser into an open tryout for Philadelphia's NBA G League affiliate, not a workout alongside James. The title supplies the dream; the drills and scrimmages supply the test.

First comes a private-gym session with NBA trainer Chris Johnson, who challenges Jesser to demonstrate his athleticism with a dunk. He gets it done. At Chase Fieldhouse, Jesser also tries a little networking, approaching Blue Coats forward Saint Thomas for advice and a good word with the coaches. Thomas's instruction is simple: "I would just tell you, man, just be yourself."

The staff have a more specific brief for the prospects. "Nobody here is coming in to be a star on our team. We need role players," JP Clark tells them. For a creator accustomed to being the center of his own basketball videos, that is a useful change of assignment.

Jesser hustles onto the main court during fast-break drills, then joins Team 3 for five-on-five scrimmages. A sharp baseline move leaves his defender falling and gives him a moment to celebrate, but his stated target is bigger than one highlight: play well enough to reach the showcase game.

In the comments, viewers build an imaginary lineup with Jesser as sixth man. Others have a different scouting question: when did LeBron replace Blake Griffin as his favorite?
