Jenna Lu's advent-calendar meeting has room for a bobby pin

Her corporate satire turns gift-calendar filler into a boardroom priority, while viewers connect the joke to SKIMS unboxings.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 126,408 views a day, 6.7 times a normal first day on this channel (18,903).

What belongs in an underwear brand's advent calendar? In Jenna Lu's pretend planning meeting, suggesting underwear is enough to get an employee thrown out.

The boss has a different brief: make something the company can say is worth $400, while spending only $20. A bobby pin gets an enthusiastic reception. An actual pair of underwear gets treated as financial recklessness.

Jenna plays the whole corporate team, switching between a whiteboard-wielding boss and employees equipped with an iPad, notebook and magazine. The increasingly meager suggestions include lip balm, a charm with nothing to attach it to and confetti. This is a staged comedy sketch, not footage of a brand's meeting, and the absurdity comes from how seriously the boss takes each cost-cutting contribution.

The Short drew roughly 126,000 views in its first day, more than six times Jenna's usual start. The comments were also about four times busier than usual. Viewers repeatedly brought up SKIMS, which Jenna names in the video's hashtags; several described encountering its calendar unboxings immediately before or after her sketch. Others picked out the hair ties and confetti as familiar filler.

There's a particularly pointed contrast elsewhere on Jenna's channel: she has also posted a collection of whimsical homemade gift ideas saved from Pinterest. In that video, the premise is putting something into a gift. Here, her fictional executives are working very hard to put less in.
