Plumbing-style exhausts and Porsche dilemmas fill Hydra's car-culture week

Fifteen uploads mix improvised hardware, a MacBook-or-911 meme and Williams's active-suspension history.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

From a $2,000 crap car to a $5M Bugatti Bolide, never underestimate the power of a zip tie 😂😭From a $2,000 crap car to a $5M Bugatti Bolide, never underestimate the power of a zip tie 😂😭

Hydra found plenty of comedy in the gap between expensive cars and decidedly ordinary hardware. A Toyota Soarer arrived with an exhaust assembly featuring a sharp elbow, mismatched pipes and a hose clamp. The title's suggestion that every bend adds horsepower is the joke, not a tuning tip.

Elsewhere, a price-comparison meme asked whether a car enthusiast would choose a MacBook or a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera. Another upload replaced the familiar romantic bridge padlock with a piston and connecting rod. Between the jokes, Hydra made room for Nigel Mansell's Williams FW14B and the active suspension that helped maintain its aerodynamic performance during his championship season.

The most-watched of the week's fifteen uploads was the Bugatti Bolide zip-tie clip, already featured here. Credited to @kikiscars_ on Instagram, it pulls back from a small fastener to reveal the blue-and-black track car. Viewers extended the price mismatch into imaginary luxury-service bills, while others debated what material the tie was made from.

But the strongest momentum belongs to an earlier BMW E60 M5 upload, now at roughly 2.4 million views. Its subject is the particular appeal of a high-revving V10 inside an otherwise family-shaped sedan. The Bolide and racing-style headrest accessory clips follow it among Hydra's busiest videos right now.

Across the channel, the week brought about 5.5 million views and modest subscriber growth, with daily viewing above its usual level. Among similarly sized motoring channels, Oakland Auto Detail had a much larger weekly audience, while STRAD was quieter. For Hydra, the older M5 clip remains a substantial part of the activity alongside the new car-culture jokes.
