Godzilla's subscriber surge accompanies a Minus Zero effects push

TOHO's official North American channel has added nearly a quarter to its subscriber audience in seven days, even as daily views run below normal.

Godzilla Minus Zero's visual effects are getting another turn in the spotlight. Following a clip featuring Minami Hamabe, GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO has posted "The VFX team went all out on #GodzillaMinusZero!", continuing its run of effects-focused promotion.

The channel has added about 193,000 subscribers over seven days, bringing it to 983,000. That is nearly a quarter more subscribers than it had at the start of the period. But this is not a matching surge in viewing: daily views are running at roughly half their usual level.

The Minus Zero trailers already occupy several places among the channel's most-watched regular uploads, alongside the trailers for Godzilla Minus One. Those are substantial audiences, though they do not establish what prompted this week's subscriber growth.

There is a smaller-scale Godzilla on the channel, too. "Chibi Godzilla Raids Again // S4E15: Guess How Much?" continues the anime's everyday monster comedy, with Jun Fukuyama voicing Chibi Godzilla and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Chibi Mechagodzilla.
