Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

How Morticia & Gomez Met - The Addams Family

Gomez introduces himself politely. Morticia introduces a pet lion, a biting plant called Cleopatra and a doll whose head she has chopped off. For this particular couple, the conversation is going rather well.

"How Morticia & Gomez Met - The Addams Family" has reached roughly 433,000 views, making the black-and-white sitcom excerpt Amazon MGM Studios' most-watched new upload of the week. Carolyn Jones and John Astin play the young pair, with Margaret Hamilton appearing as Morticia's mother. Viewers are recognising Hamilton from The Wizard of Oz and discussing the affectionate, respectful marriage that follows this wonderfully peculiar introduction.

The rest of the week's selection leans towards screen monsters: a Killer Klowns From Outer Space death-scene ranking and several visits to Vincent Price's The Abominable Dr. Phibes. There is a modern promotional detour, too: "How To Rob A Bank | Fortnite Announcement Trailer" announces a custom island and game takeovers tied to David Leitch's heist film.

Across the channel, views rose by more than 12 million over the week while subscribers held steady. That was a substantial week among the neighbouring studio channels, with Warner Bros. Classics also drawing a large audience. Amazon MGM Studios' daily viewing is currently above its usual level.

The strongest daily draw remains "I Play Rocky | Official Trailer 2", followed by Morticia and Gomez's introduction. The Beekeeper 2 teaser is also active, giving the channel a distinctive combination: boxing dreams, action spectacle and a surprisingly courteous encounter with a lion.

Gomez & Morticia had the most respectful and functional marriage of any TV characters back then. I always wanted someone to love me the way Gomez loves Morticia.
