Who can warn Jerry about a trap before Tom has even built it? A mouse drawn on the blueprint, naturally. In "Designs on Jerry," the sketch comes alive while Tom sleeps, giving his intended victim a helpful preview of the machinery.
That miniature engineering dispute opens "Tom and Jerry | Classic Episodes Mega Compilation | Vol. 45 | Warner Classics", the biggest of Warner Bros. Classics' three uploads this week, with nearly 800,000 views. Later, "Saturday Evening Puss" turns the household into a jazz venue: Tom invites his feline friends over, while Jerry would very much prefer to sleep. The compilation moves from elaborate mechanical schemes to a disagreement any apartment dweller can understand.
The other arrivals offer two very different kinds of confrontation. "Looney Tunes | Halloween Episodes Compilation | Warner Classics" sends Bugs Bunny into Count Bloodcount's castle and Witch Hazel's company, with Porky and Sylvester facing a frightening overnight stay. "Cool Hand Luke | Prison Escape: Failure To Communicate | Warner Classics" revisits Strother Martin's Captain reprimanding Paul Newman's Luke after an escape attempt.
Tom and Jerry's collection is attracting the most daily viewing right now, with the new spooky Looney Tunes compilation close behind. An older Yosemite Sam, Bugs and Daffy collection also remains busy, its stories including Daffy's unenviable assignment as Bugs' stunt double.
Across the channel, daily viewing is close to its usual level, and the subscriber count grew by roughly 10,000 over the week. Warner Bros. Classics had the largest weekly view gain among its listed studio-channel neighbors; Amazon MGM Studios also drew substantial viewing, while Universal Pictures At Home's daily pace was quieter than usual.
