Chibi Godzilla returns as TOHO passes 900,000 subscribers

The new "Guess How Much?" episode offers everyday kaiju comedy alongside the channel's big-screen monster trailers.

Not every Godzilla appearance requires a city to crumble. The latest episode of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again brings the miniature monster's everyday life back to GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO, which has added about 216,000 subscribers in a week to reach roughly 907,000.

"Chibi Godzilla Raids Again // S4E15: Guess How Much?" arrived on Friday. The anime follows Chibi Godzilla and friends through laid-back daily adventures, with a rather larger ambition underneath: becoming a great kaiju like his father, Godzilla. Jun Fukuyama voices Chibi Godzilla, with Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Chibi Mechagodzilla and Rie Takahashi as Chibi Mothra.

That gives the official North American channel a different register from its Godzilla Minus Zero trailers and Times Square spectacle. Those uploads sell enormous scale; this series makes room for small, comic encounters. Directed by Taketo Shinkai, its episodes even close with Akira Ifukube's "Godzilla's Theme," keeping a familiar piece of the giant monster's identity in the miniature version.
