The Yukon Denali Ultimate, not the new Sierra, fills GMC's week
The brand spent the week explaining its 2027 Sierra 1500, but the clip that drew the crowd is a short SUV film with a three-sentence description.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 658,310 views a day, 29 times a normal day (22,613).
Which GMC video is everyone watching? Not the one about the next truck.
The brand's channel spent the past two weeks preparing people for the 2027 Sierra 1500. A behind-the-scenes film meets the designers and engineers of its new digital cockpit and shows how they chose what a driver needs to see while towing, trailering or off-road, and where each control belongs. A shorter clip promises that "every button has a reason." Another tells the years of work behind the sixth-generation Small Block V8, and one more bills the truck as the most powerful Sierra 1500 GMC has built. None of them has drawn more than a modest audience.
The crowd went to "GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate," posted on September 30 and already past half a million views. It explains nothing about engineering. Its description is three short sentences about working hard, indulging hard and having earned it. The title names the top of GMC's full-size SUV range: Denali Ultimate is the trim that sits above the regular Denali, the name GMC has used for its most luxurious models since the late 1990s.
That one upload turned the channel's day around. GMC usually adds a little over 20,000 views a day, and it just took in nearly thirty times that. Most of the week's views arrived in that single stretch, while the Sierra films that the brand clearly put the most explaining into stayed in the background.
