There is a leaderboard for people who finish Cod-Zilla quickly. Gary is more concerned with how a family would finish it at all.

At Marino Fish Bar in Sittingbourne, Kent, the dish billed as the world's biggest fish and chips arrives with a huge battered cod, a mound of chips, curry sauce, mushy peas, pickled eggs and gherkins. The £60 platter turns Gary's table into an attraction, with other customers stopping to inspect it.

The review has drawn about 420,000 views since yesterday. There is an obvious spectacle here, but Gary's question is more useful than whether he can clear the plate: does making a fish supper enormous mean compromising the cooking?

Owner and chef Andy says the idea was to bring families together. Gary reckons even four people would struggle, then cuts through the batter to find out whether the middle has survived the journey through the fryer. He praises the crisp, light coating and juicy fish, and says the quality holds up as he works through the peas and pickled accompaniments.

It is a notably different experience from the Ramsay fish-and-chips visit we reported here, which Gary scored zero. This time, viewers are discussing sharing the platter with family or friends, alongside the practical achievement of frying such a large piece intact.

Andy eventually brings takeaway containers. Gary's main quibble is that the sauce pots could be bigger, a modest complaint beside the fish occupying his table.
