Garron's American verdict: lovely people, questionable petrol stations
A month-long drive from New York to Texas supplies his only new upload, which has reached nearly 2.5 million views.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Americans get a lot of hate
Garron went looking for the America people had warned him about. After a month driving from New York to Texas, he has a problem with that picture: the people keep being helpful.
"Most Americans I've met: very intelligent, nice people. They want to help you out, very welcoming," he says in "Americans get a lot of hate". Even New York and the American South failed to deliver the unpleasant encounters he had been told to expect. His mock disappointment gives the travel verdict its comedy without making the people he met the punchline.
The food gets a defence too. Garron argues that fresh produce and good meals are readily available, then holds up Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies to distinguish what is available from what you choose to eat. His actual complaints are more specific: unwelcoming petrol-station shops and pedestrian signals whose flashing hands seem at odds with their countdowns.
Viewers have plenty to add about the roadside stops. Americans describe the relief of finding a genuinely decent petrol station, while others question how much remained in that oatmeal-pie box.
That single upload was the week's biggest new attraction and is comfortably the channel's busiest video right now. "My first Philly Cheese Steak" and "My first New York Bagel" are also drawing daily views, keeping the trip's tasting stops in the picture.
Across the channel, the week brought roughly ten million views and continued subscriber growth, although daily viewing is currently around half its usual level. Among nearby comedy channels, Mike and Joelle had a bigger viewing week and Toby Stubbs a quieter one. Garron's particular contribution was a road-trip review in which the snacks prompted more suspicion than the strangers.

What viewers say
As an American I agree with gas stations being filthy. It’s not all of them but it is a lot of them. One of the best feelings on a road trip is finding a decent gas station and being like “Wow, this is a nice gas station.”
