'Being Irish is my entire personality': Garron reaches a million subscribers
The milestone lands as his feed moves from Irish folklore and the Blarney Stone to a new video called "First time in America."
Why this story? The channel passed the 1,000,000 subscribers mark.
Garron Noone's channel describes itself in six words: "Being Irish is my entire personality." A million people have now subscribed to that idea, and 13,000 of them arrived in the last week alone.
His recent uploads keep the promise. "Mythical Irish Locations," an episode of his podcast Parts Un-Noone, gathers folklore that viewers sent in. There is a hunting lodge where the devil was said to play cards, a burial mound older than the pyramids, a hole in a field said to lead to the underworld, the causeway two giants built and then destroyed, and a small bush so sacred that a motorway was rerouted around it. Along the way, Garron owns up to a 75-year sporting curse of his own, which the description says was lifted only recently.
One stop on that tour got a clip of its own. In "KISS THE IRISH STONE," he considers the hygiene of leaning backwards off a castle wall to kiss a rock that thousands of tourists have already kissed.
Then the feed leaves home. "First time in America" went up the day before the milestone and passed a third of a million views in about a day. Among his latest uploads, only "Emergency in ireland" from late September has drawn more.
The week before brought an episode of animal stories. In it Garron recalls a sheep that boxed him in the face and introduces Hunter, the cat he consults on all major life decisions.
