Houdini, rebuilt by AI from old photos, headlines Fox Nation's trailer shelf
The three-part documentary arrives October 14, and the first comments under its trailer are mostly about the technique, not the escapes.

HOUDINI: Back from the Dead Official Trailer | Fox Nation
Harry Houdini made a career out of getting free of things that should have held him, and Fox Nation's newest trailer has him slipping out of a still photograph. "HOUDINI: Back from the Dead" is billed as a three-part documentary series in which AI turns archive photos of the escape artist's famous stunts into moving footage. It streams from October 14, and the trailer passed 50,000 views in its first half day, the quickest start of anything the channel posted this week.
The comment section has gone straight to the method. Several viewers ask why the actors' faces were altered to look like Houdini at all, when a documentary could simply let the performers play him. Another says they are open to the idea in principle but still waiting for one of these productions to look right. A man who spent years exposing fake spiritualists would probably have enjoyed an argument over what is real on screen.
The rest of the week's eleven uploads stayed close to home: a CrimeCam 24/7 clip of a burglar and a can of gasoline, a new season of Stories of the American Mafia, a COPS stop in Kansas, and the Rescue Nation pool-cover rescue we wrote about here. Still, the channel's real engine is older. The CrimeCam "Where are my fries?" short from late September is close to seven million views and still brings in more each day than everything posted this week combined.
The pace has eased from a very hot stretch, but about 4,000 new subscribers arrived, and among the TV networks and streaming services of similar size no channel gained more views this week. Two and a Half Men came closest.
