"We want to stop the gun violence," a student tells a reporter outside a Bronx high school. Classmates have walked out after a fellow student was chased and fatally shot while walking to school.

FOX 5 New York's Newsroom Live report moves from the demonstration to the investigation, pairing students' calls for safety and accountability with surveillance footage of the chase. At the time of the report, police were searching for three teenagers, and no arrests had been announced.

The upload reached about 39,000 views in half a day, already far beyond the roughly 5,000 a regular video on the channel usually receives across its first day.

At the walkout, the student interviewed makes a specific appeal: people involved in violence should not bring those issues into school. The demonstration asks for justice for a classmate, but also for a school day free of that danger.
