Seattle dog that took bullet for owner now requires surgery | FOX 13 Seattle
Lauren Wiggins calls Judah her lifeline. The Cane Corso stepped in when someone tried to shoot her during a domestic violence attack, taking bullets that she says would otherwise have struck her.
Now the injuries he survived are putting him at risk again. In FOX 13 Seattle's report, Wiggins describes why the dog who protected her needs surgery.
Judah still has bullet fragments in his head from the November 2024 attack. Reporter Chio Matsuzawa explains that they were initially left in place, but swelling and movement have made an operation necessary. The report shows an X-ray of his skull as it explains the problem.
Wiggins says the shifting fragments could threaten Judah's brain and eyes. She is seeking donations to help pay for the surgery.
The brief report drew about 43,000 views in its first day, more than ten times the usual audience for the station's short uploads. Its comment section was also substantially busier than usual.
For Wiggins, the need is inseparable from what Judah did for her. "He's literally my lifeline," she says.
