Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Rock, Ice, or Tree?

Ethan Heinrichs jams his hands into mountain cracks, climbs with ice axes, then goes barefoot up a tropical tree. "Rock, Ice, or Tree?" fits three very different climbing experiences into a minute, with the protection changing as much as the scenery.

On rock, he places cams in cracks. On ice, sharp tools and falling chunks make for a less forgiving setting. In the tree, soft slings protect the bark, but they cannot stop the canopy swaying. "Oh boy, here comes the wind," he says from above.

There were no new uploads this week, yet the two-week-old Short is supplying a substantial share of the channel's viewing. It has reached roughly 5.6 million views and is drawing far more daily attention than the other active videos, including "I did NOT want to find this..." and "How will I get down...". The latter, already a talking point here last month, continues to find viewers.

Across the catalogue, daily viewing is more than double Ethan's usual pace. He added about 5,000 subscribers over the week, with weekly views higher than any of the nearby outdoors channels listed alongside him. BLOCKETH OUTDOORS also had a growing week, while Farmhouse on Boone's daily viewing stayed close to its usual level.

For viewers wanting more than a quick look down, Ethan's longer climbs offer a different scale: his October ascent of Snowpatch Spire is already among his most-watched regular videos, alongside Devils Tower and a massive frozen waterfall.
