How alone does a solo trip stay? For Cavy, only until he meets Charmaine and Jacinta while deflating his tyres on a red dirt track. They agree to convoy to a camping spot, and his first evening includes dinner with new company before he climbs into the rooftop tent.
"7 Days Alone on Australia's Remote Coast | 4WD Camping & Fishing" was Cavy Fishing's only upload this week, reaching roughly 72,000 views. The two-hour adventure trades a single fishing mission for life out of a rented Toyota Hilux, with the search for usable water shaping the route.
The opening attempts aren't straightforward. Wind and dirty water spoil a rocky ledge, then a locked gate blocks another destination. A mangrove walk leads to a calmer estuary, where Cavy lands and releases a barramundi on a small lure. "I'm so absolutely stoked. Barramundi right here," he says. An estuary cod and a little barracuda follow, with rough waves sending him back from the outer rocks.
Viewers are talking about watching the long film in one sitting, the freshwater change of pace and his enthusiasm for small catches as well as large ones. In the description, Cavy also raises frustrations about restricted coastal access and rubbish in remote places.
Channel-wide daily viewing is running at nearly twice its usual level, although subscribers were unchanged over the week. The new trip is the busiest upload right now; the older "Giant Tuna from the SAND! (Catch & Cook)" also remains active. That expedition takes Cavy and Sam to a remote sand island, where both land tuna from the beach despite wild weather and an insect-filled camp.
