The bodywork comes off, then the problem gets much bigger: the Honda Super Cub's main frame tube separates completely, exposing corrosion inside. In DT Restoration's motorcycle teardown, stripping away the rusty parts becomes a way of discovering just how much needs replacing.
The bike arrives at the workshop on a wheeled cart. After the leg shield, exhaust, handlebars and front suspension come apart, the damaged backbone goes to a metalworker, who grafts a replacement pipe section into it. There is no spoken commentary in the sequence, just the mechanical work carrying the story.
DT Restoration posted nothing new this week. That Super Cub restoration is nevertheless the busiest of its highlighted archive videos by daily views, with a scrapyard ceiling-fan repair close behind. A weathered Panasonic television supplies another branch of the channel's repair work, from cleaning its shell and circuit board to replacing damaged components.
Subscribers were unchanged over the week, while daily viewing is running a little below the channel's usual level. Among similarly sized DIY channels, The Pethericks had a much livelier week for subscriber growth; DT Restoration's was quieter.
Its biggest regular-video audience belongs to a very different machine: the full UAZ 469 restoration has accumulated roughly 66 million views. Old vehicles remain a substantial part of this workshop's appeal.
